Prune it.

It all begins when winter ends. Removing old growth after the last freeze will produce the most flowers. Throughout the season regular trimming of dead, diseased, and crossed branches will keep your rose bush healthy.

Fertilize it.

Roses are energy hungry plants. They love sun and nutrients from a fertile loamy soil. Proper soil will provide correct water retention and a nutrient rich base that can make all the difference between a few flowers or hundreds of flowers.

Deadhead it.

Repeat blooming roses will flower all summer with regular deadheading. After the flower is pollinated, the rose bush will begin the process of making seeds. These seeds are called rose hips. By removing wilted flowers and rose hips you can make the rose bloom again.
